DeCarlo Delivers DRAMA
November 30, 2013
When co-creator Bruce McKagan introduced ALL THAT DRAMA the musical to friend and lead singer of BOSTON, Tommy DeCarlo was all in. The two quickly picked out a character and song they felt Tommy could bring to life. “Don’t Be A Dope” was the song, sung by a character in the musical named Blues Man Ben. “Joe Carter recorded the instrumental track and we went over to Tommy’s studio to capture his vocals. We’ve worked together on lots of recordings over the past 5 years. He never ceases to amaze me. Incredible voice and he absolutely nailed our tune!!”
As South Pointe High School students in Rock Hill, SC ready for the world premiere of ALL THAT DRAMA the musical, drama teacher James Chrismon’s selection for the character to play the role of Blue Man Ben has a high bar to reach. But Tommy pipes in, “it’s a fun song to sing and whomever has the opportunity to sing it should simply have a good time. That’s what I did.”

Lead Roles Selected for ALL THAT DRAMA’s world premiere
October 20, 2013
After months of scouting and weeks of auditions, the lead roles of Amanda McCarthy (Kristi Swiger) and Whitney Charles (Latashianna Alexander) in ALL THAT DRAMA the musical have been finalized.
“I was extremely nervous… I mean I really connected with the role of Whitney and I love singing her songs, this is a dream come true!!” says Latashianna. Kristi comments, “When Latashianna and I first sang the song HELLO we both knew we were made for these characters”.
Co-creator Bruce McKagan says, “Last summer Jimmy Chrismon, South Pointe High’s drama teacher, introduced me to a few students he felt could help with the recording of our reference tracks for the musical. As soon as I heard Latashianna and Kristi sing their first notes I knew we had our voices. I’m extremely happy the made Jimmy’s final cut.”
